# Idea
Models are the new lingua franca. They help us adjudicate between statements and claims, because models allow us to specify under which conditions we should expect certain events.
Models tie us to a mast—a mast of logic. They formally describe relationships between ideas and constructs.
Models are fertile. One model can be applied to various domains.
Models make us humble. They highlight what we don't know.
Using multiple models lead to better descriptions and predictions.
Hedgehogs perform worse than foxes—the latter uses multiple models.
